Apple has unveiled its latest lineup of MacBook Air models, featuring 13-inch and 15-inch displays powered by the cutting-edge M3 chip. Built with 3-nanometer technology, the M3 chip delivers remarkable performance enhancements, boasting up to a 60% speed increase compared to its predecessor, the M1 chip, and up to 13 times faster than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Air.
The new MacBook Air models prioritize portability with their super-thin and lightweight design, complemented by an impressive battery life of up to 18 hours. Starting at $1,099 for the 13-inch model and $1,299 for the 15-inch variant, these laptops are also available at discounted rates of $999 and $1,199 respectively for educational purposes.
Available for order starting March 4, with availability beginning March 8, the new MacBook Air models come in four stylish colors: midnight, starlight, silver, and space gray. Boasting a Liquid Retina Display with 500 nits brightness and support for 1 billion colors, these laptops offer enhanced connectivity with improved Wi-Fi 6E support.
Additional features include a 1080p webcam, two Thunderbolt ports, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and speakers with Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos support, as well as Touch ID for enhanced security.
Apple emphasizes the M3 MacBook Air’s prowess in AI applications, equipped with a faster and more efficient 16-core Neural Engine and accelerators in the CPU and GPU for enhanced on-device machine learning capabilities.
Furthermore, the new MacBook Air sets a precedent in sustainability as the first Apple product made with 50 percent recycled content, including 100 percent recycled aluminum in the enclosure, aligning with Apple’s environmental objectives.
